In observation of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, city offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 17, and will reopen during regular hours on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022.

Essential personnel will remain on duty, should an emergency arise. If Slidell residents experience problems with their water or sewer service, they should call the City Services 24-hour emergency hotline at (985) 643-6140.

Due to emergency infrastructure repairs, the intersection of Kostmayer Avenue and City Drive is currently closed. Pending any unforeseen circumstances, the intersection should reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, October 6 at 6 p.m.

Slidell Mayor Greg Cromer is hosting a meeting for Olde Towne Slidell Businesses next Monday, Sept. 27 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Slidell Municipal Auditorium. Olde Towne Business owners are encouraged to attend.

The city is still waiting on confirmation from the state on the status of the FEMA PODs (Points of Delivery). When they arrive, the PODs will include ice, MREs, water and blue tarps. They WILL NOT BE located at the Heritage Park overflow parking lot, so please don’t line up there waiting in your vehicles.
We are also waiting on more deliveries from faith-based organizations like Operation Blessing and are very appreciative of all the support we are receiving.

Keep Slidell Beautiful will host a Recycling Day on Saturday, August 21, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Bayou Lan Parking Lot near Heritage Park.

They will be accepting the following items for recycling:

Plastic Grocery Bags

Aluminum Cans

Glass Items

Tires (Five tires per person per vehicle, per DEQ regulations.)

Document Shredding (Limit of up to six small banker boxes, six 13 gallon trash bags, four legal size boxes. Cannot shred binders, plastic, plastic sleeves, or rubber bands.)

The Heritage Park Boat Launch will be closed at 6 a.m. on Saturday, August 7 and reopen at 6 a.m. on Sunday, August 8. The public will be able to launch their boats (for no charge) at the Slidell Marine – Marina located at 36440 Old Bayou Liberty Road by Nathan’s Restaurant.  Please park vehicles/trailers roadside on Bayou Liberty Road (LA433).
