City of Slidell Opens Sandbag Distribution Site Ahead of TS Bertha

In preparation for Tropical Storm Bertha, the City of Slidell will open a self-service sandbag distribution site today, Tuesday, July 21, 2026, starting at 8 a.m.

The distribution site is located near Heritage Park in the parking lot at the corner of Bayou Lane and Pennsylvania Avenue.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this resource to help protect their homes and property from possible flooding. Please bring your own shovel.

To help ensure sandbags are available for as many residents as possible, there is a limit of 15 sandbags per person.

St. Tammany Parish Government has also opened a self-service sandbag location in Slidell at 34783 Grantham College Drive.

City officials encourage residents to continue monitoring weather forecasts and take necessary precautions as conditions change.
