FEMA PODs have arrived in Slidell

FEMA PODs have arrived!

The Louisiana National Guard will be distributing ice, MREs, and water today at Fritchie Park (905 W. Howze Beach Road) from 12-6.
IMPORTANT! Enter W. Howze Beach Road off of Old Spanish Trail and enter Fritchie Park. Follow the police and directionals once you enter the park. Vehicles will exit onto Spartan Drive and then to Pontchartrain Drive.
Supplies will be distributed based on the number of people in the vehicle. Each person will receive:
  • 3 waters
  • 2 MRES
  • 1 bag of ice
Please come prepared with food and drinks to wait in line. You could be waiting for awhile.

Slidell still waiting on FEMA PODs

The city is still waiting on confirmation from the state on the status of the FEMA PODs (Points of Delivery). When they arrive, the PODs will include ice, MREs, water and blue tarps. They WILL NOT BE located at the Heritage Park overflow parking lot, so please don’t line up there waiting in your vehicles.
We are also waiting on more deliveries from faith-based organizations like Operation Blessing and are very appreciative of all the support we are receiving.

City of Slidell water is safe to use

There seems to be a lot of confusion about a boil water notice for the City of Slidell.
To clarify, the city’s municipal water system is backed up by generators and we never lost power or pressure. If you live inside the city limits and receive a bill from the City of Slidell for water service, the water is safe to use.
There is a boil water advisory for other water systems in St. Tammany Parish, so please check with your provider for the most current information.

UPDATE: Operation Blessing arrives in Slidell with water, cleaning supplies and dry goods

11:00 am UPDATE: The supplies have run out and the distribution area is now closed. We will update this page when more supplies arrive.

Help has arrived! Operation Blessing is in Slidell with water, cleaning supplies and dry goods! They are based at the Heritage Park overflow parking lot.

IMPORTANT! Enter at Fremaux and Bayou Lane. You will not be able to enter from West Hall or Pennsylvania Avenue. Go over the railroad tracks and turn right to enter Heritage Park. You will continue down Bayou Lane through the park and turn into the overflow lot. Once you receive the supplies, you will exit the same way down Bayou Lane and exit back onto Front Street. Please follow the barricades!

A big thank you to Operation Blessing and all the faith based organizations who are coming to lend us a helping hand!

People are asking about ice and MRE’s. We are still coordinating and will make an announcement as soon as those items arrive.
