Yes. A permit is required for the operation of a garage or rummages sale within the city limits.
* No more than 2 permits can be issued in 1 calendar year.

Permits are issued by the director of finance in the city hall and will not exceed a duration of 3 days.
*Civic and charitable organizations are excluded from this requirement.

Mardi Gras Parking: What are the laws for Slidell?

Parking shall be prohibited along any parade route 12 hours before and 12 hours after any parade within the first 15 feet of the curb or as posted.

Why?

The regulations contained in this chapter (Article VII, Sec. 27) are ordained and required for the public health, safety, morals, good order, convenience, and general welfare of the community. It is the intention of this article to establish reasonable limits to the demand for law enforcement, sanitation, and other city services and the fire department, and to maintain the great tradition of Carnival.
