The Olde Towne Arts Center (OTAC) Board of Directors, the City of Slidell and the Slidell Commission on the Arts are pleased to announce that the “The Light” Invitational Art Exhibition will soon be on display at the Slidell Cultural Center at City Hall.

“The Light” features the works of Christine Bandera, LaNelle Landry, Robert LaBranche, and Martin Needom. This unique exhibit opens on Friday, May 28, 2021 with an artist’s reception from 5 to 7 p.m. at Slidell Cultural Center. An artist’s talk is scheduled during the opening reception and light refreshments will be provided. The exhibit will be on display through Friday, July 9, 2021.

Gallery hours are Wednesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Viewings are by appointment only by calling the Department of Cultural & Public Affairs at (985) 646-4375. Same day appointments are available. The Slidell Cultural Center is located at 2055 Second Street in Olde Towne on the first floor of Slidell City Hall. Admission is free.

“As the first official exhibit of the 2021/2022 Cultural Season after the pandemic, OTAC’s goal was for arts audiences to experience light as an element in art through four artist’s unique and different visions.’The Light’ is a tribute to these artists and the power of the arts to provide hope during and after difficult times,” said Charlotte Collins, the curator for this exhibit. “We hope you will join us and bask in their light.”
