PUBLIC OPERATIONS

The Department of Public Operations is responsible for supervising the offices of public works, public utilities, wastewater treatment, property maintenance, and airport operations. All in-house construction on the city’s infrastructure systems is programmed, prioritized, and scheduled by this department. It is also the department’s responsibility to coordinate various functions relating to the city’s infrastructure systems with the city engineer. Other duties are assigned by the mayor or the chief of staff.

Public Operations Department Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the offices of public works, public utilities, wastewater treatment, property maintenance, and airport.
  • Programs, prioritizes, and schedules all in-house construction on the city’s infrastructure systems.
  • Coordinates, as may be required, various functions relating to the city’s infrastructure systems with the city engineer.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the mayor or the chief of staff.
