Flow Tribe Kicks Off Bayou Jam Fall Concert Series Oct. 4

The City of Slidell will kick off the 24th annual Bayou Jam Fall Concert Series with a free concert featuring Flow Tribe on Sunday, Oct. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Heritage Park.

“We invite everyone to come out to Heritage Park on Oct. 4, bring your lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of great music with family and friends,” said Slidell Mayor Randy Fandal. “We are excited to welcome Flow Tribe to the park for their first Bayou Jam concert, and I know they are going to put on a great show. We look forward to seeing everyone there!”

Making their Bayou Jam debut, Flow Tribe will bring the soul, funk and fire of New Orleans to Heritage Park for an evening of high-energy live music.

Founded in 2004, Flow Tribe has spent more than two decades bringing its unique blend of funk, soul, blues and rock to stages across the country. Known for their nonstop energy and crowd-moving performances, the New Orleans-based band has become a festival favorite, performing at events including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, French Quarter Festival, Gretna Heritage Festival and Voodoo Music Experience. They have also been featured on MTV’s The Real World: New Orleans and have collaborated with legendary artists including Allen Toussaint, Irma Thomas, Big Freedia, Mannie Fresh and Ivan Neville.

Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening of live music with family and friends. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Admission is free and open to the public.

The fall series continues with Amanda Shaw and the Cute Guys on Oct. 11 and Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos on Oct. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Heritage Park. The concert series concludes on Nov. 8 with a special Veterans Day Concert featuring the Northshore Community Orchestra starting at 4 p.m. at the Slidell Municipal Auditorium. Doors open at 3:30 p.m., and open seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission is free.
