Coastal Environmental Services will collect bare Christmas trees inside the Slidell city limits January 10 – 14. Please have your tree out to the curb by 5 am the morning of Monday, January 10 if you would like it to be picked up as part of the recycle tree program. We will be making one pass down every street inside the city collecting all trees that meet the parish requirements. Any trees that do not meet the below description will be thrown in the regular trash.
Any trees put out after these dates will also be put with trash or the resident can bring their tree to the location designated by the parish.
Tree Requirements:
Trees must be stripped of all decorations —ornaments, lights, tinsel, bags, etc. and the stands must be removed completely to be eligible for the program. Flocked trees cannot be accepted.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Ochsner Health Systems will be offering daily COVID-19 testing starting on Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Fritchie Park Gym located at 905 W. Howze Beach Road in Slidell.
Hours for Dec. 30 – Jan. 2 are 12 to 5 pm and starting on Monday, Jan. 3, the hours will be 12 to 7 pm daily.
COVID-19, PCR testing is open to the public, ages two and older. Members of the community who wish to be tested should bring an ID and insurance card, if applicable. There are no out-of-pocket costs for those seeking a test and no one will be turned away based on their insurance status. Testing is available at the times listed or until all test kits have been utilized. Testing schedules are subject to change due to weather. Results delivered within three days via the MyChart app.

In observation of the Christmas and New Year holidays, city offices will be closed on:

Due to inclement weather, tonight’s holiday movie at Slidell’s Bayou Christmas has been postponed until this upcoming Tuesday, December 21st, at 7 p.m.
