Slidell Announces Ron Usner as the Curator of the Slidell Museum

Slidell Mayor Bill Borchert is excited to announce that Ron Usner will serve as the new curator of the Slidell Museum. He will oversee operations and continue the museum’s mission of collecting, researching, preserving, and sharing Slidell’s history.

Usner is a graduate of Slidell High and earned his B.A. in Sociology and an M.A. in History from Southeastern Louisiana University. In 2010, he retired from a successful career in banking and mortgage lending. He looks forward to utilizing his local roots and historical expertise to enrich the museum’s collections.

The Slidell Museum is located at 2020 First Street in Olde Towne. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. Groups are welcome but are encouraged to schedule a tour in advance.
