Bayou Jam Brings Dueling Pianos to Heritage Park on Oct. 25
Heritage Park is turning into a piano bar when Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos takes the stage for the City of Slidell’s Bayou Jam concert series on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 5 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
For the first time in Bayou Jam history, the concert series is bringing the dueling piano bar experience to Heritage Park. Featuring two pianists on stage, the interactive show combines live music, audience requests and plenty of opportunities to sing along. From Billy Joel, Elton John, Journey and Neil Diamond to country favorites, oldies, hip-hop and more, the music is driven by the crowd, making every performance unique.
“Bayou Jam is all about bringing people together to enjoy great music and spend time with family and friends,” said Mayor Randy Fandal. “This is going to be a fun, interactive show, and I encourage everyone to come out, bring their lawn chairs and get ready to request their favorite songs. Be sure to bring a little tip money for the pianists when you make your requests!”
“If you’ve never seen a dueling piano show, think of the kind of entertainment you would find at Pat O’Brien’s Piano Bar in New Orleans,” said Alex Carollo, Director of Cultural & Public Affairs for the City of Slidell. “The show is dictated by audience requests, so the crowd really becomes part of the performance. People can request their favorite songs, sing along and help shape the show. You never know what the pianists will play next, and that’s part of the fun!”
Felix and Fingers is known for its high-energy performances that blend the excitement of a live concert with the spontaneity of a piano bar. Audiences can expect a lively evening filled with familiar hits, singalongs, laughter and surprises as the pianists work their way through requests from the crowd.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening of live music with family and friends. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
The fall Bayou Jam series concludes Sunday, Nov. 8, with a special Veterans Day concert featuring the Northshore Community Orchestra at the Slidell Municipal Auditorium. The concert begins at 4 p.m., and doors open at 3:30 p.m. Open seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission is free.
