Board of Zoning Adjustment

The Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) hears and decides upon appeals to an administrative decision and upon requests for variances from the zoning ordinance. Requests for variances must demonstrate that exceptional and peculiar hardship would be caused by enforcement of certain zoning regulations and that the variance would not substantially deviate from the intent of the zoning ordinance. The Board cannot grant any variance in the use of land or take any other action which would result in a change in zoning district boundaries. Variances granted by the Board of Zoning Adjustment will not serve as a precedent or rewrite any provisions provided in the Slidell zoning ordinance.

The Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) generally meets on the 1st Thursday of each month but may cancel a meeting if there are no requests. Meetings are generally held at 7:00 pm in the City Council Chambers located at 2045 Second Street, Third Floor, Slidell, LA 70458.
