SUMMARY:American Rescue Plan Public Forum
DESCRIPTION:The City of Slidell\, Louisiana will be receiving nearly $4.7 million from the American Rescue Plan to strengthen support for vital public services. \n\nSeveral important improvements around the city will be prioritized with these funds: \n\n\n\nAeration at the Terrace Avenue Waste-Water Treatment Plant will be rehabilitated\nNew water and sewage facilities will be installed from Lindberg Drive across I-10 to the E. I-10 Service Road\nSeveral pump stations around the city will be rehabilitated\nCity operating systems and software for online payments and application submissions will be upgraded\nA kiosk will be installed outside of the city administration building to allow for contactless\, after hours payments\n\n\n\n\nFunding for the American Rescue plan can be used to: \n\nSupport urgent COVID-19 response efforts to continue to decrease spread of the virus and bring the pandemic under control\nReplace lost revenue for eligible state\, local\, territorial\, and Tribal governments to strengthen support for vital public services and help retain jobs\nSupport immediate economic stabilization for households and businesses\nAddress systemic public health and economic challenges that have contributed to the inequal impact of the pandemic\n\nMore information about the requirements of the American Rescue Plan can be found at https://home.treasury.gov/policy-issues/coronavirus/assistance-for-state-local-and-tribal-governments/state-and-local-fiscal-recovery-funds \n\n\n\nIf you have any comments\, please send an email to comments@cityofslidell.org or attend the public forum on Monday\, November 1\, at 6 p.m. at the Slidell Municipal Auditorium.

SUMMARY:FEMA Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant Program Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The City of Slidell pursues every opportunity to mitigate properties in our community. Currently\, we are preparing an application through the FEMA Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) grant program. This is a competitive program among applicants from across the country\, and therefore\, funding is limited.\n\n\n\nThe City of Slidell will host a meeting to discuss this application opportunity on November 2nd\, 2021 at 6pm in the Slidell City Auditorium. We encourage all interested property owners within the City of Slidell to attend.\n\n\n\nIf this application is funded\, we will be able to offer eligible Severe Repetitive Loss (SRL) applicants as much as 100% of your eligible elevation costs. Repetitive Loss (RL) applicants are eligible for 90% of your eligible elevation costs.
